Gearheads and adventure-seekers listen up! Nissan Australia has revealed an even more hardcore version of their unstoppable Patrol SUV for true off-road enthusiasts. Working with Premcar, Nissan has created the new Patrol Warrior derivative, a vehicle tailor-made to dominate the harsh Australian outback.
Starting with the Patrol Ti trim, the Warrior gets upgrades in key areas to create an SUV that can withstand punishing terrain. Right away you’ll notice the Warrior’s increased ground clearance and chunky 295/70 all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels. Combined with re-tuned suspension and steering, this Patrol means business off-road.
The exterior also gets tweaked with a rugged new front bumper, bash plate, fender flares and matte black accents that give the Patrol Warrior an aggressive, muscular aesthetic. Open up the bi-modal exhaust and the 5.6-liter V8 rumbles to life with a satisfying 400 horsepower.
Inside, passengers are treated to upscale amenities like leather seats, navigation and emergency braking. Alcantara and gloss black trim paired with Warrior logos give a premium yet tough feel.
At around $65,000 USD, the 2020 Patrol Warrior is priced at a premium. But for serious off-road enthusiasts seeking a luxuriously appointed tank to explore the remote Outback, Nissan and Premcar’s creation may be just the ticket.
Unfortunately the rugged Warrior won’t reach American shores. But a new twin-turbo V6 Patrol is on the way soon to bring more refinement and luxury to Nissan’s full-size SUV lineup.
