Recently, Maruti Suzuki India Limited proudly announced that the Alto has achieved a remarkable milestone of 45 lakh sales in the country. This achievement comes as no surprise, given the car’s ability to cater to the diverse needs of Indian customers. Whether it’s an individual seeking an affordable city car or a taxi driver looking for a fuel-efficient option, the Alto fits the bill perfectly.
Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed his pride in the brand Alto’s incredible journey and its strong emotional connection with customers. He emphasized that no other car brand has achieved such a milestone to date. The Alto has consistently set new benchmarks in the auto industry and remains India’s favorite car, given the country’s young demographic and rising income levels.
The current generation Alto K10 offers a range of variants with prices starting from Rs. 3.99 lakh for the base Std variant and going up to Rs. 5.96 lakh for the top-end VXi S-CNG variant (ex-showroom). The Alto K10 is powered by a 1L DualJet 3-cylinder petrol engine, producing 66 BHP and 89 NM of torque. It comes with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT transmission options. The CNG version delivers 56 BHP and 82 NM of torque and is available only with the 5-speed manual transmission. The Alto is well-known for its impressive mileage, with the petrol version claiming 24.39 KM/L and the CNG version offering 33.85 km/kg.
