Kia Sonet Facelift: A Sonet makeover similar to June 2017’s Venue facelift launch is anticipated to include updated aesthetics and additional features.
The Kia Sonet, which will debut in India in August 2020, will receive a mid-life refresh in 2021. It’s one of the most popular compact SUVs on the market right now. After the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, and Hyundai Venue in November 2022, Sonet came in at number four. Newly updated versions of the Sonet may make their premiere this year, perhaps at the 2023 Auto Expo.
Updated Competitors like Nexon and the next generation of Brezza will be the focus of Sonet’s efforts to increase its capabilities. Sonet still accounts for roughly one-third of Kia’s sales in India in its current form. It holds about 15% of the market for SUVs with wheelbases less than 4 metres. About 2 million sonnets have been sold in India so far.
Kia Sonet Facelift
Among the visual upgrades included in the Sonet facelift are a new grille, light clusters, daytime running lights, bumpers up front and back, and revised turn signals. It’s also possible to instal new alloy wheels. Kia’s new design philosophy, first seen in the refreshed Venue, will inform the aesthetic upgrades for the Sonet facelift. Its usefulness will extend to both the inside and outside of buildings.
It’s likely that the updated Sonet will come standard with some of the innovative features that have made Kia and Hyundai leaders in their respective segments. There’s a good chance that all Sonet refresh models will come equipped with six airbags. Not only will this make the subcompact SUV safer, but it will also guarantee that it meets the requirements of the forthcoming, more stringent safety standards.

Updated versions of the Kia Sonet might include better connectivity and audio in 2023. Like the updated features of the Venue, this one will be standard fare. To provide a more relaxing environment in the cabin, the refreshed Venue added voice commands with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant as well as compatibility for 10 regional languages.
As part of the Sonet makeover, it may also be possible to add new connectivity options. Navigation, remote control, security, convenience, and vehicle management are just some of the areas in which the current model excels in terms of connected features. To sum it up, Sonet offers 58 interconnected functions for free for an entire three years. The updated venue is slightly better, with more than 60 connected features accessible through the Bluelink platform.
No performance updates
The 2023 Kia Sonet refresh will include the same drivetrain choices as the current model. You can choose between two gasoline engines and one diesel engine. The maximum output of the 1.2-litre petrol engine is 83 PS and the maximum torque is 115 Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is coupled to it. Both the 6iMT and the 7DCT transmissions can be paired with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which generates 120 PS and 172 Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 100 PS and 240 Nm with a 6-speed manual transmission and 115 PS and 250 Nm with an automatic.
As a result of the enhancements, Sonet makeover probably will have its pricing raised. Only updated versions of certain varieties can use it. Costs for the Venue makeover ranged from Rs 31,700 to Rs 1,42,501. The price increases ranged from 3.27% to 14.25% in percentage terms. The cost of a Sonet makeover can go up by the same amount.
