Kia Seltos Facelift Brings New Style, Extra Features To Australia

The Facelifted Kia Seltos, which debuted in other countries with similar changes, has now arrived in Australia.

The updated Kia Seltos will be offered in Australia in four different trim levels (S, Sport, Sport+, and GT-Line) and with two different engine choices. With the 2.0-liter four-cylinder, prices range from AU$29,500 ($19,956) for the S to AU$32,700 ($22,121) for the Sport, AU$35,800 ($24,218) for the Sport+, and AU$41,500 ($28,074) for the GT-Line. Prices for the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder equipped Sport+ and GT-Line models begin at AU$39,300 ($26,586) and AU$44,900 ($30,374), respectively.

As mentioned, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder remains unchanged from the pre-facelifted Seltos, but the 1.6-liter turbocharged mill gains 12 percent more power, maintains the same torque, and is more fuel efficient thanks to a new camshaft and valve control system and an integrated thermal management system. Kia has also abandoned the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission it had been using in favour of an eight-speed automatic.

The updated Seltos has a number of new features that set it apart from its predecessor. A redesigned front bumper and a bold skid plate garnish highlight the exterior changes, and the GT-Line variants also get updated trademark lighting. New taillights with LEDs and a full-width light bar are standard on the GT-Line, but the most noticeable alterations can be found in the vehicle’s rear.

Kia has also made changes to the Seltos’s cabin. Like the new Sportage and EV6, all models now come standard with digital gauge clusters, with a single display for the S and two 10.25-inch screens for the Sport, Sport+, and GT-Line. The GT-Line adds heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a tilt and sliding sunroof, wireless phone charging, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, ambient lighting, and a head-up display, while the base model now includes these features as standard equipment.

The new Seltos will be available to order in seven different hues, including a brand-new shade called Pluton Blue, for customers in Japan. There are two two-tone colour options for the GT-Line.

According to Kia’s chief operating officer Damien Meredith, “with its broad appeal to individuals, couples, and families, the Seltos has been winning compact SUV car consumers over since it was initially unveiled in 2019.” According to Kia, “the new Seltos combines an already solid product with a new dynamic design and an amazing list of enhanced features, and we are convinced its popularity will not only continue but grow.”
