Toyota is set to unveil a fresh addition to its lineup in India with the ‘Urban Cruiser‘ moniker. Known as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, this upcoming model will compete against rivals such as the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Toyota had previously introduced a version based on the Maruti Vitara Brezza in 2020, though it was phased out in 2022. Meanwhile, the Brezza underwent a generational update. Subsequently, Toyota launched the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Presently, the Japanese automaker is gearing up to introduce a new entry in the sub-4-metre SUV category, likely to be a variant of the Maruti Fronx.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Gets Minor Styling Changes
While Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is set to draw its foundation from the Fronx, it will receive a dash of freshness with new soft components. It is anticipated to incorporate design elements from the Urban Cruiser Hyryder variant, possibly showcasing updates like a new bumper, grille, and distinctive alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the upcoming vehicle is poised to adopt a new dual-tone interior theme, complemented by the presence of a Toyota badge on the steering wheel boss.
With its introduction, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is slated to become the most budget-friendly addition to Toyota’s vehicle lineup. The escalating demand for sub-4-metre SUVs has fueled the emergence of the ‘Micro-SUV’ segment, characterized by hatchback-based models. Notably, the Hyundai Exter and the Tata Punch have made significant strides in this segment. In response, Toyota seems poised to introduce a formidable contender with the Urban Cruiser Taisor, potentially positioning it as a strong contender in the market. As the launch is expected during the festive season, Toyota’s upcoming offering is primed to make its mark.
