The 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Slantnose, masterfully revived by the Galpin Porsche Santa Clarita team, faced the daunting challenge of addressing fire and corrosion damage.
Undeterred by the condition of the car, the team remained resolute in crafting an award-worthy restoration for the iconic 930 Slantnose. This model, a turbocharged Porsche 911 sporting a modified front end reminiscent of the 935 race car, pays tribute to the nostalgia of the 1980s while infusing modern comforts.
Galpin Motors’ President and Chief Operating Officer, Beau Boeckmann, shared, “This project is the most ambitious build we’ve undertaken for the Porsche Classic Restoration challenge. Despite commencing with fire damage and corrosion, we managed to metamorphose it into a period-accurate Porsche in both appearance and interior, while infusing it with performance that is nothing short of awe-inspiring.”
Adorned with an X83 Flachbau factory body kit, a rarity available solely in Japan, the restored 1988 Porsche 930 boasts a “Rubystar” exterior finish that harmoniously resonates with the livery inspired by the Porsche 75th anniversary’s iconic colors.
Inside, a turquoise interior theme reigns, accentuated by black and white pasha trim. The instrument cluster receives a contemporary facelift, while the climate control system receives a modern update. The audio system, rejuvenated by integration with a custom Blaupunkt sound system, offers an elevated auditory experience.

Bolstered by a new oil cooler system, a rebuilt transaxle, a fine-tuned suspension, and HRE wheels enveloped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, this restored marvel promises a driving experience that defies expectations.
