Tata Nexon Facelift: Autocar India says that the Tata Nexon, which is one of the best-selling small SUVs in the country, will get a major redesign in August of this year. Tata Motors will make big changes to the design, interior, and engine of the new Nexon Facelift. The company wants to make the next model with a new look at the Ranjangaon factory. They plan to start making it in July 2023. Stellantis also uses this building to build Jeep SUVs, but it does so on a different assembly line.
The front of the upcoming Tata Nexon will be redesigned in a big way. It will have split headlights, just like the other Tata SUVs. The model will probably have LED daytime running lights on top and projector or LED headlights instead of fog lights. Recent spy pictures of the SUV near Pune also show that some of the Nexon’s exterior design will be inspired by the Curvv concept.
But the SUV’s side profile and size will stay the same as the model it replaces. From the recent pictures of the test mule, the only change that was clear was that the 16-inch alloys will have a new design. The rear of the facelifted Nexon will get a new design with slimmer tail lights and new LED inserts. This will be a big change. The taillights will likely be connected to a horizontal LED light bar, and the car’s rear bumper will also be changed.
The Nexon Facelift is expected to have a completely new interior with modern features like a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which we have seen on the upgraded Harrier and Safari. The SUV’s interior will probably also get a new TFT instrument console and ADAS features in the high-end models.
The new Tata Nexon will have a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine, which will be shown off at the Auto Expo 2023. The new engine is said to have a maximum power output of 125 bhp and 225 Nm. This is 5 bhp and 55 Nm more than what is said about the current engine. In addition to the proposed 6-speed DCT, this new gasoline engine will also be available with the SUV’s current 6-speed manual transmission.
Even though most compact cars and SUVs don’t have diesel engines, the Tata Nexon will still have a 1.5-liter, 110-horsepower diesel engine as a second option in 2023. Unlike the gasoline engine, which will get a new 6-speed DCT, the diesel engine is likely to keep the same 6-speed manual and AMT transmissions. We can expect the new Nexon EV facelift to come out at the same time as the new Nexon ICE facelifts.
As was said above, the company is most likely going to start making the new Nexon facelift in July of this year. Reports also say that the company wants to make about 15,000 cars a month, including both gasoline and diesel versions. The company also wants to make 5,000 Nexon EVs per month.
