The total cost of ownership for a 2022 iX xDrive50 is $83,200. One can receive a $7,500 federal tax credit and additional incentives from the state when purchasing this electrified BMW.

In 2023, the M60, a high-performance variant with an all-electric motor producing 610 horsepower and a range of about 280 miles, will be added to the roster. It has a sporty-tuned air suspension system. Wherever possible, features from the separate Convenience, Dynamic Handling, and Luxury packages have been bundled into a single, comprehensive Ultimate offering.

Both the xDrive50 and the iX M40i come standard with all-wheel drive and two electric motors enough for a combined 516 horsepower. The iX xDrive50 rocketed from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds in our tests. We estimate that the mid-size SUV can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds thanks to the 610 hp offered by the M60 high-performance trim.

The EPA predicts 324 miles of range per charge from the iX’s massive 105.2 kWh battery pack. The iX impressed us with its fuel efficiency in our 75 mph highway test. While most EVs lose a significant portion of their stated range after being driven on the highway, the iX recorded an astounding 290 miles of range in our test.
