Toyota Rumion Launch in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motors is gearing up to launch the Rumion, a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in India in September 2023. The Rumion will receive minor exterior and interior updates to set itself apart from the Ertiga. It will be positioned under the Innova Crysta in Toyota’s MPV lineup.

The Rumion will be powered by the same engine lineup as the Ertiga, including a 1.5-liter petrol engine with a mild hybrid setup. This engine produces 102 hp and 136.8 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. A CNG option may be available later.

The Rumion is expected to be priced at a premium over the Ertiga, which is currently priced from Rs. 8.64 lakh to Rs. 13.08 lakh (ex-showroom).

Here are some of the changes that have been made to the Rumion to set it apart from the Ertiga:

  • The front grille has been redesigned and now features a larger Toyota logo.
  • The headlights have been slightly updated and now feature LED daytime running lights.
  • The taillights have also been updated and now feature a more modern design.
  • The interior has been slightly updated with new seat upholstery and a revised dashboard.

The Rumion is expected to be a popular choice for families looking for an affordable and reliable MPV. It will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Mahindra Marazzo, and Honda BR-V.
