New Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta

The New Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta: Which One Is Right for You?

Now that the New Kia Seltos has a new look, would it make sense to buy it instead of a Creta until it gets a new look?Kia India has put it on the market, and the price starts at Rs. 10.9 lakh (ex-sh). This price is right around where the starting prices of competitors like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and MG Astor are. But undercuts Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. The most expensive Creta model costs Rs. 19.20 lakh, and the new Seltos costs Rs. 20 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

New Kia Seltos facelift VS Hyundai Creta

In terms of size, there isn’t much difference between the new Kia Seltos and the new Hyundai Creta. Both are part of the same platform, and their length, width, height, and wheelbase are almost the same. The fuel tank size and 433L of storage room in the trunk are also the same. Differences lie in design traits.
Creta always got ideas for its designs from Santa Fe, no matter what time period it was. Design was never Creta’s strong suit, and Hyundai is even getting rid of the old look of the Santa Fe. Seltos, on the other hand, looks a lot better, and the new model makes it even better. Seltos just looks like a better car from the front, the side, and even the back.

Not only that, Seltos also adds some flash to the mix. We’re talking about dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome accents, LED fog lamps, LED turn signals that move, LED reverse lights, and even LED stop lights. These come with halogen lamps from Creta.

The back has linked LED taillights with a sleek LED signature that makes the Creta’s taillights look old. Creta doesn’t have parking devices in the front or all around the car like Seltos does. In Seltos’s front, there is a radar element that lets it use up to 17 level-2 ADAS features.

Who’s more premium on the inside?

Seltos looks even better from the inside. This is done with two horizontal 10.25-inch digital screens, one for instruments and the other for entertainment. These screens are all in the same housing, which is a design feature found in much nicer cars. In comparison, Creta looks more conventional. Even though it still works, it could be better.

The Hyundai Creta update, which is currently being tested, will fix a lot of these problems. It’s possible that Hyundai will release it in 2024. Until then, the Kia Seltos update, which is newer and more appealing, makes it feel a little less important. Both the Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta are about the same in terms of how they work and how they are put together.

We’re talking about things like similar frames, similar parts, similar powertrains, and so on. When it comes to engines, the old Hyundai Creta doesn’t have the new 1.5L turbo gas engine that the new Kia Seltos offers. This engine has 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of torque. A 7-speed DCT is also available as an option. Since the new facelift for the Kia Seltos is better than the Creta in every way, it doesn’t make much sense to go to a Hyundai store. Until the Creta gets a new look soon, which won’t happen until Indian roads.
