Exclusive Spy Shots of Mahindra XUV300 Facelift! Inspired by XUV400 EV – What’s Changed?

Mahindra and Mahindra have initiated testing of the XUV300 facelift, as evidenced by spy shots showing a camouflaged version of the SUV on the Chennai-Vellore highway. The images reveal apparent cosmetic changes to the vehicle. However, no specific details regarding the launch timeline of the XUV300 facelift are currently available.

From the spy shots, it is evident that the XUV300 facelift features new LED tail lamps, which are identical to those found on the XUV400, an all-electric variant of the XUV300. Additionally, the rear bumper and reflectors seem to have been borrowed from the XUV400.

Initially, due to the lack of a visible exhaust pipe, the vehicle resembles the XUV400 more than the XUV300. However, the presence of a tachometer suggests that it could be the diesel version of the XUV300, as the exhaust pipe of the diesel variant is also concealed and not immediately visible.

The manufacturer may also introduce changes to the front design and cabin of the XUV300 facelift. These changes could potentially include new upholstery and a slightly redesigned dashboard, addressing criticisms that the current dashboard appears outdated when compared to its competitors.

It is worth noting that the XUV300 facelift will not undergo significant dimensional alterations, unlike the XUV400, in order to remain eligible for tax concessions. The XUV300 facelift aims to stay within the 4-meter length limit.

Currently, the XUV300 facelift is available with two turbocharged petrol engine options and one diesel engine. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates 108 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, while the 1.2-litre GDi turbo engine produces either 128 bhp and 230 Nm or 250 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine delivers 115 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. All engines are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, with the option of a 6-speed AMT transmission for the turbo-petrol and diesel engines.
