Thanks to a chassis that is versatile enough to accept commercial and leisure vehicles, including those with twin rear axles, the company’s new XT truck might be the first heavy-duty EV pickup. The minimum wheelbase at this location is 144 inches, or roughly the same as a full-size crew cab pickup, and it can increase to nearly 170 inches. According to Atlis, the vehicle can haul 5,000 pounds of payload and tow 35,000 pounds. The XT truck has “load-response” air suspension, 4-wheel independent suspension, and 4-wheel steering. Base models will have a foot of ground clearance and ten inches of wheel travel, but off-road-oriented vehicles will have fifteen inches of clearance and more than twelve inches of travel.
The four traction motors are expected to have a combined output of 600 horsepower and employ battery packs with a capacity of at least 250 kWh for a maximum range of 500 miles. According to Atlis, the trucks can use a 1.5 MW charger to recharge their batteries from 0% to 100% in just 15 minutes. Oh, and the front trunk has a sizable 18 cubic-foot capacity as well. Canoo Pickup Truck
This EV pickup truck might be the most distinctive of them all. In 2023, a small firm called Canoo plans to introduce this revolutionary electric truck in cab-over style. This vehicle is based on Canoo’s Multi-Purpose Platform and includes a delivery truck, a fully enclosed van, and a foundation that the firm refers to as a “lifestyle vehicle.” Batteries up to 80 kWh can be supported by the Canoo architecture.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV

The R1T electric pickup truck from Rivian has proven to be an excellent piece of technology. The truck can pull a trailer weighing up to 10,000 pounds and accelerates like a sports car. It also has genuine 44 capabilities and ground clearance. There is a shortage of these trucks. On online auction sites, some gently used versions are fetching prices well above six figures.
Can a smaller, less expensive vehicle fit beneath that? Rivian undoubtedly believes it. The R2 lineup of cars, which will first likely include a truck and subsequently an SUV, will be smaller than the R1 lineup both in terms of dimensions and pricing.
