The base L Eco trim level of the 2022 Toyota Prius costs a minimum of $24,625. The base price of an LE model is $25,835, the base price of an XLE trim is $28,845, and the base price of a Limited model is $32,920. Optional all-wheel drive costs an additional $1,400 on the LE trim level and an additional $830 on the XLE level.

The Toyota Prius may be in seven distinct colors: Super White II, White Pearl Crystal Shine, Dark Brown Mica Metallic, Emotional Red, Attitude Black, Grey Metallic, and Silver Metallic.

Unfortunately, the Prius’s hybrid engine doesn’t provide fast or even mildly entertaining acceleration. The goal of world-beating fuel efficiency need not come at the expense of adequate performance, as several competitors demonstrate. The 2022 Prius doesn’t improve upon its predecessor in terms of refinement or driving pleasure, though.

The most fuel-efficient Prius Eco can achieve up to 58 mpg in the city and 53 mpg on the highway, as reported by the EPA. The EPA estimates that other front-wheel-drive models will achieve 54 City/50 highway mpg. The EPA estimates 52 and 48 mpg for all-wheel-drive models, which is a slight decrease.
