Gearheads, exciting news from Tesla’s chief himself! Elon Musk announced on X that he recently took the Cybertruck Performance version for a spin and came away mighty impressed.
Now what exactly does the “Performance Cybertruck” refer to? Well, if it’s like Tesla’s other EVs, it likely indicates a souped-up Quad Motor trim with even more mind-bending power.
When first revealed, that top Quad Motor model could rocket to 60mph in a supercar-rivaling 2.5 seconds thanks to its sci-fi tech. And Musk made clear this new Performance edition “kicks ass next-level” with acceleration and torque we can only imagine right now.
Perhaps this gives us a taste of an eventual Plaid version like the Model S and Model X, cracking 1000 horsepower and redefining pickup performance. With independent ultra-powerful motors at each wheel, this pixelated truck could easily pull off crab-like diagonal driving as Musk suggested.
While we don’t have all the juicy specs and pricing yet, it’s safe to say the Cybertruck Perfomance will claim the electric truck crown whenever it arrives.
Remember, it’s been over 4 years since the cyberpunk pickup first debuted, with production delays pushing high-volume manufacturing to 2024. But Musk finally took the wheel of what could be a groundbreaking prototype model.
So cyberpunks and speed freaks, get hyped. A Ridiculously quick electric pickup from the future is coming…eventually!
