2024 Toyota Sequoia Nightshade Edition Adds Stealthy Style

Toyota is introducing new style and off-road capabilities to its Sequoia SUV, more than a year after its global debut. The enhancements include the Nightshade exterior package, exclusive to the Limited trim, and a TRD Off-Road package available for SR5, Limited, and Platinum 4×4 models.

The Nightshade Edition offers a sleek black-out treatment for various elements, including the 20-inch wheels, grille, mirror caps, badging, and more, catering to those who prefer a non-chrome look. It’s a distinct style choice for the Sequoia Limited trim.

In addition to the Nightshade package, Toyota is introducing the TRD Off-Road package, aimed at enhancing the Sequoia’s off-road capabilities. This package includes features like a selectable locking rear differential, multi-terrain select, downhill assist control, and crawl control, all of which aid in handling challenging terrains.

To improve off-road performance, the TRD Off-Road package incorporates TRD-tuned components such as Bilstein monotube shock absorbers, springs, and a red front axle driveshaft. The cabin receives upgrades like aluminum pedals and a red TRD push-to-start button.

While these packages enhance the Sequoia’s capabilities, no changes have been made to its powertrain. It retains the twin-turbo V6 hybrid powerplant, producing 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.

According to Toyota Design Studio CALTY president Kevin Hunter, the Sequoia aims to be a versatile and rugged SUV suitable for various adventures, whether it’s a night out with friends, a family boat trip, or an extreme off-road experience. These new options add style and off-road prowess to the Sequoia lineup.
