The Japanese automaker Nissan introduced its SUV, the X-Trail, to the Indian market. Unfortunately, this model’s lacklustre sales in the Indian market might be attributed to its high asking price and fairly uninspiring design. By the year’s end, Nissan plans to release an updated version of this car in India. The new X Trail will be an all-new vehicle that retains some characteristics from the outgoing version. It is estimated that the price will be around Rs 22 lacs. It will go up against vehicles like the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

Engine & Performance
The new X Trail is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder DOHC diesel engine that produces 150 horsepower and 320 Newton-meters of torque at 2000 revolutions per minute (rpm). In the same vein as the last iteration, this is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. The new model, though, will also be available with a continuously variable transmission. With such a potent engine, the automobile can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in under 11 seconds. The drivetrain can be either front- or rear-wheel-drive.
