What’s New for 2023?

In 2023, Lamborghini will add the Huracán Tecnica to its lineup, making the track-killing performance of the Huracán STO available to a wider audience at a more reasonable price. Correct that to a price range that is more manageable. It shares the powerful STO’s rear-wheel steering and torque-vectoring rear differential as well as its 631-horsepower, 5.2-liter V-10 engine. The Evo coupe and Spyder are currently only available with all-wheel drive as of the 2023 model year, after the company’s decision to discontinue the rear-wheel drive variants of both models.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The Huracán’s cabin is hidden under a dry-sumped 5.2-liter V-10 that makes a sinister noise as it approaches its 8500-rpm redline. Since the 602 hp rear-wheel drive Evo variants have been discontinued, the engine’s maximum output has increased to a robust 631 hp. Every Huracán comes standard with a 5.2-liter V-10 engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that can make shifts on its own or in response to the driver’s input through paddle shifters.

Our 2020 model year test Evo coupe with all-wheel drive accelerated to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds and ran the quarter mile in 10.4 seconds at 135 miles per hour. A test drive in the Evo Spyder convertible confirmed our belief that high performance is more fun when accompanied by some type of spectacle. All Huracán models now include standard rear-wheel steering, boosting their already impressive agility.

Moreover, it incorporates an adaptive predictive system (LDVI) that responds to driver input in real-time. Although the new Tecnica’s chassis and ride quality impressed us much, the steering seemed lifeless at highway speeds. As in, (the STO’s). Despite this, the Tecnica proven to be a spectacular road eater that, when driven hard, is still impressive on the track.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

Neither the Tecnica nor the STO have yet received fuel efficiency ratings from the EPA, but the EVO models have been given a rating of 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway, for a combined rating of 15 mpg, the same as the cars from the previous year. Because of this, we expect the Tecnia and STO to have comparable, if not identical, fuel economy ratings.

Those looking to purchase a new Lambo are unlikely to give a hoot either way. However, it’s important to remember that all Huracán models are subject to a $2,100 gas guzzler tax because of their poor EPA ratings. We can’t speak to the Lambo’s efficiency in real life because we haven’t had a chance to put any version through our rigorous testing process, which includes driving at 75 mph on a highway fuel-economy route.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The Huracán’s interior is a work of art, with a plethora of intricately crafted technical components, some of which are purely aesthetic while the others are functional. One could argue that the infotainment system on a million-dollar supercar is the least exciting part of the vehicle. Lamborghini still equips the Huracán with an 8.4-inch touchscreen that operates the audio system, climate settings, and other media content. The Lambo has both Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa connection, so you can use your voice to manage your music and other features.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The Huracán lacks the driver-assistance technologies often seen in more conventional vehicles. This thoroughbred supercar, on the other hand, is equipped with a slew of performance aids that make it easier for the driver to keep the car under control at triple-digit speeds.
