Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid unveiled: What’s New?

Earlier this year, Porsche unveiled an upgraded Cayenne with several significant improvements, subsequently pricing it at Rs 1.35 crore (ex-showroom). Now, just two months later, the German automaker has introduced the most powerful version of the Cayenne worldwide. While performance is a key focus, the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid also claims to offer extended electric vehicle (EV) range.

Visually, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid largely retains the design changes introduced in the 2023 upgrade. It features the same Taycan-type Matrix LED headlights and is available in both SUV and Coupe body styles. The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid also sports larger air intakes, red brake calipers, quad tailpipes, and a body-colored rear bumper to highlight its high-performance nature.

Under the hood, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid boasts a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 130 kW electric motor. This combination results in an impressive total output of 729 bhp and 96.8 kgm of torque, surpassing the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid, which previously offered 670 bhp and 91.7 kgm of torque.

The vehicle is equipped with a 25.9 kWh battery pack, providing an estimated EV range of 82 km, a significant improvement over its predecessor’s 42 km claimed range.

Inside the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, it benefits from the Taycan’s integrated touchscreen infotainment system, a heated GT sports steering wheel, and 18-way adjustable leather sport seats. The standard equipment includes adaptive air suspension and torque vectoring, with dynamic chassis control and rear-axle steering available as optional features.

For those seeking an even more enhanced Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid experience, Porsche offers a GT Package trim. This package includes ceramic brakes, 22-inch GT Design wheels, rear-axle steering, black exterior elements, and a carbon fiber roof, among other features. However, it’s important to note that this option is only available in markets where the Cayenne Turbo GT is not offered due to stricter regulations.
