Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Plugs a New Gap in the Range: Bridging the Performance and Efficiency Gap

Porsche has expanded its electrified Cayenne range with the introduction of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, a mid-tier model priced at $178,300. This addition fills the gap between the existing E-Hybrid and Turbo E-Hybrid variants in the recently updated luxury SUV lineup. The key highlight of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid is its powertrain, featuring a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine and an electric motor, producing an impressive 382kW and 750Nm of torque. This power boost, approximately 30kW and 100Nm more than the standard E-Hybrid, propels the Cayenne S E-Hybrid from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.9 seconds (4.7 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package).

In line with Porsche’s recent hybrid updates, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid benefits from an enhanced lithium-ion battery pack with a larger 25.9kWh capacity. This improvement results in an increased electric range of around 85km, making it practical for everyday use on battery power alone.

With the addition of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid, Porsche’s hybrid Cayenne lineup is now complete, with one notable exception: the Cayenne GTS model, expected to become the most potent non-electrified version, replacing the previous Turbo variant that will not see a renewal. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid is already available for purchase, and production is currently underway.
