Genesis G80 Facelift

Genesis G80 Facelift Spied with New Lights, Redesigned Interior

The facelifted Genesis G80 has been spotted in California, offering a glimpse of some changes to the upscale sedan. Although the heavy camouflage still conceals some details, the bright sunlight and clear images allow us to see certain modifications on the exterior. Notably, the headlights appear slightly smaller, and the front fascia will see minor adjustments, including smaller corner vents and a potentially smaller grille.

The distinctive twin lightbars on the fenders are expected to remain, and the rear of the prototype reveals revised taillights with larger lenses and different body lines. Additionally, the rear fascia features updated faux exhaust outlets at the base.

Inside the cabin, a partial glimpse indicates some changes, with the floating-style center touchscreen possibly removed. The dashboard slope in front of the driver also suggests a layout similar to the larger G90. Heavy covers on the dash hint at more comprehensive updates beyond just minor trim changes.

As for powertrain options, no information has been released yet. Currently, the G80 offers a choice between a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 300 horsepower or a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 delivering 375 horsepower, with all-wheel drive standard on the V6.

The updated G80 could potentially debut in September, initially in South Korea as a 2024 model. Depending on the timing, it could become either a 2024 or 2025 model for the North American market.
