Mahindra Thar 4×2 spied for the first time
In the coming year, Mahindra will release a 5-door variant of the Thar. There have been rumblings that the automaker may offer the more sensible variant in both 4×2 and 4×4 flavours.
A new espionage photo of a vehicle that could be the Thar 4×2 has recently appeared online. It reveals the car’s interior, including the dashboard and centre console. This test vehicle features a 6-speed manual transmission, however there is no 4×4 selector lever on the left.
When compared to the three-door Thar, the five-door will be promoted as a more practical option. The Thar 5-door’s longer wheelbase would make it less capable in rough terrain regardless. Those shopping for a family SUV that will spend most of its time on the highway may benefit from a 4×2 variant.
However, the available motors will be the same. Both the 2.2-liter diesel and the 2.0-liter gasoline engine produce 130 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque, respectively. There will probably be a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic available for both engines.
