Rumor has it that Maruti Suzuki will enter the C-segment MPV market in India next year. The largest automaker in the country is expected to introduce a high-end MPV that will sit above the current crop of minivans, which includes the Ertiga and the XL6. The likelihood of it being sold solely through Nexa’s high-end dealerships is also likely.

The mid-life refreshes for the Ertiga and XL6 were released earlier this year by the Indo-Japanese firm. The 25th of November 2022 is set as the domestic premiere date for the next-generation Toyota Innova Hycross, on which the forthcoming MPV is speculated to be built. The 2023 Auto Expo in January is where we may anticipate hearing its pricing.

In the months following the introduction of the Toyota Innova Hycross, the Maruti Suzuki C-MPV will reportedly go on sale. It is anticipated to feature a substantially localised strong hybrid system, like the Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and it could be offered in six- and seven-seater variants over a broad price range.

In India, Toyota has stopped selling the Urban Cruiser compact SUV, and a successor model based on the most recent iteration of the Brezza is not anticipated to appear.
