It has been reported that Honda is developing a new small SUV to succeed the WR-V in India. The tiny SUV would likely share its foundation with the new Amaze and its engines with the Honda City sold in India.

The Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Brezza will all have to work hard to keep up with this new SUV. Features-wise, this new SUV will include things like automated climate control, push-button start, a touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and more. The 1.5-liter gas engine is a near certainty, and a powerful Hybrid engine choice is also possible.

To compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda is said to shortly release a new mid-size SUV. It has been speculated that the new SUV would use the same platform as the Honda City 5th generation and will offer both a 5-seater and a 7-seater configuration.

Mid-life revisions to the exterior design, amenities, and powertrain options of the current-generation Honda City are planned to arrive in the latter half of 2023. It competes for head-on with the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Ciaz in India.
