2024 BMW X2 M35i Teases New Illuminated Kidney Grille in Latest Teaser
As the launch date for BMW’s new X2 approaches, the German automaker has offered a teaser of the high-performance M35i variant. The teaser provides a glimpse of the model’s illuminated grille, large wheels, and four round exhaust pipes. The X2 M35i is set to be unveiled on October 11th and will join the lineup alongside an all-electric iX2, with both models expected to go on sale early next year.
The technical specifications for the X2 M35i are anticipated to be in line with the X1 M35i. Power is likely to come from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The car will feature lower and stiffer suspension with adjustable dampers, upgraded brakes, and a more direct steering ratio.

In terms of design, the X2 M35i boasts an angular front end reminiscent of the latest X6, featuring down-turned kidney grilles with horizontal slats, characteristic of BMW’s full-house M models. The lower bumper is aggressive and incorporates a new mesh insert. The vehicle’s rear end showcases a sportier profile with a more aggressively sloping roofline, an integrated lip spoiler, slim rear lights with BMW’s latest lighting signature, and four exhaust pipes integrated into the lower bumper.
Inside, the X2 M35i is expected to maintain a design similar to the X1, characterized by a simple, tech-focused layout and BMW’s twin-screen interface. While the sloping roofline may affect rear seat headroom, it is unlikely to impact rear legroom or overall boot space beneath the parcel shelf.
The X2 M35i is set to be unveiled alongside the standard X2 and the all-electric iX2. It is expected to be priced slightly above the more family-oriented X1 model.
