Exterior

A comprehensive video comparison of these two SUVs has been posted on the Torqued YouTube channel. The analysis begins with an examination of the exterior design of both vehicles. The presenter notes that the Honda Elevate boasts a robust and muscular front end, giving it a bold appearance. In contrast, the Hyundai Creta features a softer Korean design that resonates well with Indian buyers.

Moving on, the video compares the side profiles of the two cars. The Hyundai Creta maintains a slanting roofline, lending it an aerodynamic and flowing stance. On the other hand, the Honda Elevate retains its tall-boy design, enhancing its road presence. The comparison then extends to the rear-end design of both vehicles, highlighting that both are equipped with LED taillights, although some elements on both also incorporate halogens.

The presenter proceeds to compare the dimensions of both SUVs, noting that the Honda Elevate is slightly longer than the Hyundai Creta. While the width of both vehicles is the same, the Honda Elevate is considerably taller and offers significantly more ground clearance than the Hyundai Creta. The Honda Elevate boasts a ground clearance of around 220 mm, placing it closer to the Mahindra Thar lifestyle off-roader than the Hyundai Creta.

Powertrains

The video presentation then addresses the powertrains of both vehicles. In the video, the Hyundai Creta under examination is equipped with a turbocharged 1.4-liter petrol engine, generating approximately 138 bhp and 242 Nm of torque. The Hyundai Creta is also available with two other engine options. On the contrary, the Honda Elevate offers a single powertrain option—a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine delivers a maximum power output of 119 bhp and a torque of 145 Nm.

Interior and Driving Impressions

Moving on, the presenter conducts a detailed comparison of the interior features of both vehicles and proceeds to share his driving impressions. He begins by discussing the Honda Elevate, acknowledging its lower power output compared to the Creta but highlighting its strengths in handling and ride quality. He notes that the Elevate offers a planted and robust driving experience, even though its acceleration is slower, taking around 12 seconds to reach 100 km/h.

The presenter then transitions to the driving impressions of the Hyundai Creta. He emphasizes the Creta’s immediate sense of power, particularly with its 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which ensures smooth gear shifts. The Creta accelerates to 100 km/h in just 10.5 seconds. However, he mentions that the Creta’s overall ride quality is slightly stiffer and less precise compared to the Elevate, and it tends to produce more squeaky noises during the drive.
