Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG
Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest automaker and is often regarded as the country’s premier automaker. The Vitara Brezza is a good example of a vehicle that strikes a good mix between price, performance, and utility. Prior to the release of the second-generation Brezza, the 1.3-liter diesel engine was the only option for this vehicle. However, a CNG variant could be released by the corporation in January 2023 for around $9,000. It would have the same 1.5-liter gasoline/compressed natural gas engine as the Ertiga. This should result in a maximum of 88 PS of power and 122.5 Nm of torque.
An manual transmission with five gears will be coupled to the motor. The vehicle is not likely to be offered in a luxury trim, but rather in a base model that has standard amenities like a manual air conditioner, keyless entry, anti-lock brakes (ABS), dual front passenger airbags, and parking sensors. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
While the Brezza is a significant step forward for Maruti Suzuki, the company has no plans to slow down its blitz of CNG vehicles. The Grand Vitara CNG will arrive soon after the sub-4-meter hatchback. Both a 1.5L Intelligent Electric Hybrid and a 1.5L K-series Dual jet engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid technology are currently on offer for the Hyundai Creta competitor. CNG conversion will be performed on the latter. It would also mean that the Brezza and Ertiga CNG models might have the same powertrain. Therefore, 88 PS and 122.5 Nm of torque will be the absolute limits. The combined motor efficiency is 55 km/l, with an approximate output of 24 km/kg.
The 9-inch infotainment system will have voice assistance, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, a digital instrument cluster, heated seats, 2 airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Tata Punch CNG
Tata Motors produces the next vehicle in our 2023 list of CNG car releases in India. In the same way that the Altroz uses the Tiago’s engine but modifies it, the Punch does the same thing. This suggests that, like the Tiago, this B1-segment hatchback will receive a 1.2-liter petrol+CNG engine, giving it an immediate advantage over the petrol-only Maruti Ignis. The CNG-fueled motor can provide up to 72 horsepower and 92 Newton-meters of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission will be coupled to the motor.

Tata Altroz CNG
The Altroz, like the Punch, is rumoured to be getting a CNG version. Prices for the next model, which might debut in May 2023, have been rumoured to begin at 6.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The new vehicle will have the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine that produces 73 PS and 92 Nm as the Punch. The engine, along with a 5-speed manual transmission, may provide as much as 23 km/kg.
It would share an engine with the Tiago and the Punch, but its performance would need to be tweaked to account for the Maruti Baleno-heavier rival’s curb weight. Tata Nexon CNG
The next vehicle on our 2023 list of new CNG vehicles for sale in India is also a Tata Motors product. The Nexon would join the Altroz and the Punch in receiving a CNG+Petrol model. Unlike its smaller siblings, however, the tiny SUV would be powered by a potent 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged motor. The motor should provide 100 PS and 130 Nm. The engine will be paired with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox.
The new version will compete with the Maruti Brezza CNG, and it will likely be priced similarly. It should be offered in a number of different trim levels and feature different driving modes. The new vehicle will be one of the most reasonably priced CNG SUVs in India, costing about a lakh rupees more than the equivalent type of the petrol Nexon.

Honda Amaze CNG
Despite the introduction of BS6 rules, Honda is still selling the diesel version of the Amaze and has no plans to introduce a CNG model anytime soon. Fortunately, the same is anticipated to arrive in our market by next July. Hyundai i20 CNG
Even while a CNG version of the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS already exists, the newest generation of the i20 will soon get one too, making both cars competitive with the Maruti Baleno. The latest iteration of the luxury hatchback will go on sale sometime in August for a starting price of roughly 7.5 lakh. The Grand i10 NIOS and the Aura will have the same powertrain. Kia Sonet CNG
The Kia Sonet, the brand’s entry-level offering, will soon be the brand’s first vehicle to offer a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling option. The Hyundai subcompact SUV, like its larger relatives, will feature a 1.2-liter bi-fuel engine that is compatible with both compressed natural gas (CNG) and gasoline. Kia Carens CNG
If Kia’s history is any indication, the CNG-powered Carens will debut in November 2023, right after the Sonet. The planned Carens engine variation will help it compete with the CNG variants of the Maruti Ertiga, and it is estimated to start at Rs 11.5 lakh and upwards. That makes the Carens the least expensive premium MPV that can be converted to run on compressed natural gas. Details are scant at the moment, but it will probably be driven by a re-tuned 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine that can also operate on compressed natural gas (CNG) and gasoline.
The maximum power and torque from the bi-fuel engine are projected to be 100 PS and 140 Nm, respectively. The 6-speed manual gearbox is probably going to be the sole option. Again, it appears that the CNG variant will not be offered in the highest trim level. The Carens CNG’s base model would nevertheless be equipped with high-end equipment such as a touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system, UVO linked car technology, steering-mounted audio and telephone controls, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, and more.

Hyundai Creta CNG
The Hyundai Creta is the last vehicle on our list of upcoming CNG vehicles in India. The Creta will get a refresh at the beginning of next year. The CNG variant, however, is not expected to be released until the year’s end at the earliest. There would be stiff competition between the new model and the Maruti Grand Vitara CNG once both are available. The new version will use the same engine as the Carens CNG. Specifically, it will get a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that can also operate on compressed natural gas (CNG) and gasoline. As with the aforementioned MPV, the next Creta will feature a maximum of 100 PS and a high of 140 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox.
Available in EX, S, and SX forms, the new model will have a wide range of pricing.
