Safest Cars in India

Top 10 Safest Cars in India in 2023 with Global NCAP Rating

Safest Cars in India: Death tolls from traffic accidents in India are around 1,50,000 annually. The reasons for these high numbers are many, but among of the most common ones are reckless behaviours including speeding, failing to stay in designated lanes, running red lights, drinking and driving, and texting and driving. January 11-17, 2019 marked National Road Safety Week, an annual event that draws attention to these issues and proposes solutions.

Driving a car that has been certified as safe by the NCAP is a great method to reduce the likelihood of being involved in an accident (New Car Assessment Program). NCAP evaluates a vehicle’s safety and awards it a star rating from 1 to 5 based on its performance in a battery of tests. Here are the top ten safest automobiles that you can buy in India in 2023, according to the Global NCAP ratings.

Both the standard Tata Tigor and the electric Tigor are among the company’s best-selling automobiles, and for good reason. Aside from the obvious differences between the Tigor and the Tigor EV (fuel-powered vs. electric propulsion, respectively), there are several additional noteworthy distinctions between the two.

The ordinary Tigor only scored a 3-star rating for the safety it provides its youngest passengers, although both cars received perfect 5-star ratings from the NCAP. The Global NCAP gave the first EV, the Tigor, an excellent 12 points, and the final result was 12.52. Two airbags, central locking, child safety locks, rear seatbelts, seatbelt warning, anti-lock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), a crash sensor, and a rearview cameras are standard on both vehicles. As a result of not including standard ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, the Tigor and Tigor EV received a lower safety rating.

A 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder gasoline engine produces 86Ps of power and 113Nm of torque in the Tigor. There is a 5-speed manual transmission standard and an automatic transmission with the same number of gears as the engine.
