It was in 1899 that Giovanni Angell and seven others established Fiat as a company. In the beginning, there was the Fiat 4 HP. In 1900, Fiat hired 35 workers to staff its first factory. That first year, the company manufactured 24 autos. Fiat turned a profit in just two years, and by 1906, the company had 1,149 automobiles in service.

Fiat India has not been able to attain satisfactory sales numbers for several reasons. There is a lack of vehicles and an inadequate after-sales network. Older models are in poor condition. To revive the “good” times and rejuvenate its inventory, the company has released a revised Punto hatchback, branded the “Punto EVO.” The premium hatchback market is where this vehicle sits, and its positioning there is intentional: it is meant to attract and repel purchasers based on their preferences for luxury and performance. The current Punto generation, known as the Punto EVO, is superior to the discontinued model in every way.
Fiat took the name “EVO” from the name of the hatchback it sells in Europe and other English-speaking markets, but the design of the American version is very different from that of the European hatch. The hatch is in the hands of authorised corporate dealers at this time, and shipping should start soon. The Fiat Punto EVO can be had in either a gasoline or diesel engine. Each appearance has three equivalent variants—Active, Dynamic, and Emotion—except the top-tier ‘Sport,’ which is only available in a diesel fuel configuration. Fiat has not made any mechanical updates to the hatchback, and all of the engine choices remain the same as they were in the previous generation.
Fuel economy for the Fiat Punto Evo varies from the Dynamic 1.2 Manual Petrol model’s 15.7 km/l to the Emotion Multijet 1.3 Manual Diesel model’s 21.2 km/l. Take a look at the ARAI fuel economy estimates for a few Fiat Punto Evo to trim levels:

Fiat’s renowned and versatile Aventura model got a facelift to become the Fiat Urban Cross. The Urban Cross can be had in Emotion (with a gas engine), Active (with a diesel engine), or Dynamic (with a hybrid powertrain). One of the standard characteristics of every Fiat Urban Cross is a cockpit-inspired dual-tone interior that can be upgraded with a designer package.
Bluetooth connectivity, a touch-screen display of just five inches in diagonal size, and controls conveniently located on the steering wheel are just some of the amenities. The refreshed radiator grille, alloy wheels (16 inches), distinctive body side cladding, and metallic paint colours all come as standard equipment.
Avventura With a length of 3989 millimetres, the width of 1706 millimetres, the height of 1542 millimetres, and wheelbase of 2510 millimetres, the revised Punto Evo or Avventura crossover has amazing dimensions. The Fiat Avventura’s exterior shots highlight the hatchback’s sportier updates, which help differentiate it from the Punto Evo. The vehicle’s increased ground clearance of 205 mm is a positive feature. All models come standard with a set of reindeer headlights atop the front bumper. Both the base gas and diesel variants are unsportsmanlike in their lack of a rear spoiler.
The outside rearview mirrors are body colour and electrically adjustable for both the driver and front passenger. Indicators for signalling turns have been built into the ORVMs. The outside rearview mirrors on the base trim are black instead of the standard chrome.
In terms of fuel economy, the Fiat Avventura offers a continuum from 20.5 km/l in the Manual Diesel MULTIJET Dynamic to 20.5 km/l in the Manual Diesel MULTIJET Emotion. You may compare the ARAI-estimated fuel economy of several Fiat Avventura models here.

The cross-hatch has a rugged look and like the Adventure, benefits from a high street presence, good engines, great dynamics and a timeless design. However, as the Urban Cross was never too popular, it’s a bit hard to find one in the used car market.
In a recent Telegraph survey of the best brands for reliability, Fiat came an impressive 12th, with 112 problems per 100 vehicles. This is up from the 18th of the previous year. ReliabilityIndex also ranks Fiat pretty highly at 15th with a reliability index of 99. This is better than the industry average.
The original Fiat 500 scored a maximum five-star safety rating in Euro NCAP crash tests back in 2007. But when the updated model was tested in 2017, it could only manage three out of five stars, with worryingly low 66% and 49% scores for adult and child occupant protection respectively.
