Toyota Fortuner Mileage: Does the 2022 Toyota Fortuner’s Fuel Economy Break the Bank?
Since a long time ago, the Toyota Fortuner has had the highest monthly sales volume of any large ladder-frame SUV in the country, averaging over 1700 units sold per month. It has a 6-speed manual transmission (MT) and 6-speed automatic transmission (AT), and it may be purchased with either a gasoline or diesel engine.
We recently put the Fortuner’s 4X4 diesel AT configuration through its paces and recorded the fuel economy it provided. The figures are as follows:

The Toyota Fortuner can be had with either a Gasoline or Diesel engine, and both Automatic and Manual transmissions are available. The standard fuel economy for the Diesel Manual is 14.2 Kmpl. One of the most crucial things to look at before buying a car is its mileage, which is the number of miles it can drive on a single tank of gas.

Does the 2022 Toyota Fortuner’s Fuel Economy Break the Bank?
As the price of diesel has increased to match that of gasoline, some drivers have begun to reevaluate their commitment to what was once the more cost-effective option. Some people have been so shocked by the price increases that they are contemplating selling their cars.
The price of gasoline has risen dramatically over the past few months, regardless of how efficient your vehicle is. If you’re on the fence about whether or not your car will make it to the finish line, now could be a good moment to take a breath and reevaluate your options. For those who drive Toyota Fortuners in particular.
There are two engine options in the Fortuner lineup. First, we’ll examine the engine found in the G and A models. A 2.4-liter 2DG-FTV Diesel Engine powers these vehicles. There is a torque of 400 Nm and a power output of 150 ps. What we have here is not terrible. On city streets, this engine gets 9–12 km/l, while on the interstate, it gets you 21 km/l.
Obviously, these specs are for the motor when combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The identical powerplant may be had with a stick shift as well. Some owners of the Fortuner claim that the manual transmission is more fuel efficient than the automatic, but this is highly debatable and depends on factors like as the driver’s style, the vehicle’s condition, the road conditions, the weather, and so on.
The Q, LTD, and GR-S all feature the much larger 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV Diesel Engine as their secondary engine option. Take care when filling up, as the Fortuner lineup does not have a gasoline-powered engine. The output is impressive, clocking in at 204 ps and 500 nm of torque, numbers that are comparable to those of its PPV rivals. Of fact, this engine’s fuel efficiency is lower than average and even worse if it’s installed in an LTD 4×4. The mileage ranges from 8 to 10 km/l in the city to 17 km/l on the highway, both of which are respectable.
When compared to other compact sedans like the Vios, the Fortuner’s fuel economy isn’t too bad. So, if you’re debating between the Fortuner and the Vios and are leaning toward the latter, you should know that they have nearly the same fuel economy.
The Wigo is optimal if you wish to significantly reduce your annual fuel costs while still maintaining a reliable and enjoyable daily driver. Aside from that, have fun with the Fortuner.
