2024 Chevrolet Trax Price, Colors, Mileage, Specs And Auto Facts
Prior to this redesign, the Chevy Trax was well-known for its compact size and low starting price. As quickly as Chevy discontinued the Trax, a brand-new model appeared with a stunning redesign, increased interior space, and improved safety features. Each Trax is driven by a 137 hp turbocharged three-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and located in the front of the vehicle.
The vehicle’s drivetrain is lifted straight from the compact Trailblazer, while the Blazer’s midsize sibling served as a source of inspiration for the vehicle’s design. With its low starting price, the new Chevrolet Trax should be the third-cheapest crossover on the market, after the subcompact Kia Soul and Hyundai Venue, which it will continue to be assembled alongside at GM’s South Korea plant. The release of the Trax is penciled in for the early part of 2023.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance
Every Chevrolet Trax has a 1.2-liter turbo-three producing 137 horsepower mated to a six-speed auto. The Chevrolet Trailblazer uses the same engine and transmission as the Equinox. It only has front-wheel drive and this is the only available powertrain. Although the Trax is slightly bigger, we found that the last Trailblazer we tested, despite being all-wheel drive, reached 60 mph in a patiently demanding 9.4 seconds. When we do get around to testing the Trax, we anticipate similar performance levels.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
We will revise this section once the EPA releases fuel economy ratings for the 2024 Chevrolet Trax. Moreover, we intend to put the Trax through its paces on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route. The new Trax gets the same 29/33 mpg city/highway fuel economy ratings as the front-drive Trailblazer. Considering the Trax’s larger dimensions, we anticipate it will be able to meet or even exceed these projections.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The cabin of the new Chevrolet Trax has been rethought from the floor up. The climate controls and infotainment screen are conveniently located for the driver, but the rest of the interior is made of standard, budget-friendly materials. The new Trax has a longer wheelbase than the previous generation, allowing for more interior volume and an increase of about three inches in rear legroom. Remote ignition, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a sunroof are all nice to have, but they’re only available on higher trim levels.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Standard on the LS and 1RS trims of the Trax is a larger 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen than even the most expensive model of the previous generation offered. Upgrading to an LT or higher trim level unlocks an 11.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, which is paired with an 8.0-inch instrument cluster display. Many of the cutting-edge features in the new Trax are managed by this driver control center. These features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and a WiFi hotspot.
Chevrolet Trax Mileage
The Chevrolet Trax is a fuel-efficient SUV that gets 28 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. This is better than the average fuel economy for all SUVs, which is 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.
Trim Level | City MPG | Highway MPG | Combined MPG |
