The Sport 4×2 model of the 2022 Jeep Renegade starts at $22,495 in MSRP. There is a $29,995 price difference between the Trailhawk and Limited trims.

The 2022 Jeep Renegade, despite its diminutive stature, is a capable off-roader when properly equipped. However, when equipped with all-wheel drive, the Renegade is among the most capable and capable off-roaders of its kind in its class.

The Jeep Renegade, despite being built alongside a Fiat, is a true Jeep in every sense of the word. On top of that, it has the legendary off-road ability to back up its iconic military-inspired design. It’s also quite composed when driving on the highway, and its infotainment system is one of our favorite features. Our only complaint is that it could use less gas.

Subcompact SUVs like the Subaru Crosstrek and Kia Seltos compete with the Jeep Renegade because they are capable off-road. The Crosstrek’s standard all-wheel drive and high ground clearance make it ideal for off-roading. There is AWD on all but one of the Seltos’ trim levels, just like the Renegade does. For those looking for something a little more rugged than a practical small SUV, all three are worth a test drive.

ENGINE CHOICES

You can get the Renegade with one engine option, which is the turbocharged 4-cylinder that produces 177 horsepower and 220 pounds-feet of torque at 1,750 revolutions per minute (RPM). There is a $900 option for an all-wheel-drive system on the Sprot trim. Lower gear ratios are employed in the Trailhawk to increase its ability to crawl over obstacles.

For city driving, the all-wheel-drive Renegade gets 23 mpg, while the front-wheel-drive Sport model gets 27 mpg combined, and the highway version gets 29 mpg. Preferably, use a high-quality fuel.

PASSENGER AND CARGO CAPACITY

When the seatbacks are folded, the Renegade’s cargo space expands to 50.8 cubic feet, making it only seven inches shorter than the Trailblazer despite having more interior space. The Trailblazer has more legroom and headroom, but the Renegade is rated for five passengers and has 35.1 inches of legroom and 40.5 inches of headroom.

The Trailhawk trim’s 2,000-pound towing capacity and 8.7-inch ground clearance set it apart from the competition.

SAFETY FEATURES

Autonomous braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert are standard on most trims (the Trailhawk is not). Rain-sensing wipers and a deicer for the windshield are also included in the Trailhawk and Limited trims.

With a four-star overall NHTSA rating and a mix of Good, Acceptable, Marginal, and Poor IIHS ratings, the Renegade is a safe choice.

CONNECTIVITY

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB, and auxiliary ports, SiriusXM, and navigation are now standard on the Sport trim. The Trailhawk gets a 115-volt outlet, while the Latitude gets a second USB port and a 12-volt outlet. The Latitude trim offers a Kenwood nine-speaker audio system.

2022 Jeep Renegade Sport – MSRP From $26,085

The Sport comes standard with a 16-inch steel wheel, a six-way adjustable driver’s seat, a 3.5-inch driver information display, dual-zone climate control, and one-touch up/down front windows. It also has a black grille with a chrome surround.

$1,295 Sport Appearance Package includes black side roof rails and 17-inch aluminum wheels.

2022 Jeep Renegade Latitude – MSRP From $30,185

Automatic headlights, proximity entry, a 7-inch driver information display, and LED ambient lighting are all included as part of the Sport Appearance Group for the Latitude.

Gloss black badging, grille rings, 18-inch wheels with integrated turn signals, mirror caps with integrated turn signals, interior accents with grey contrast stitching, and a black headliner are included in the Altitude Package (995)

The $1,395 Convenience Group adds heated seats, an eight-way power driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a split-folding rear seat with a pass-through to the car.

You can get a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and an upgraded sound system for $2,195 from the Sun and Sound Group.

2022 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk – MSRP From $32,285

Additional skid plates and updated front and rear bumpers have been added to the Trailhawk trim to improve clearance angles, while 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tyres and front and rear tow hooks have also been added. A hood decal, gloss black mirrors with integrated turn signals, a black painted roof panel, red and black interior trim with red accents, heated cloth seats with topographic inserts, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with a heated steering wheel are all included in the off-road trim.

For $695, the Trailer Tow Group includes a Sun and Sound Group.

2022 Jeep Renegade Limited – MSRP From $32,485

Leather seats with accent stitching, a black-painted roof panel, and new 18-inch wheels distinguish the top-tier trim from the rest. For $2,395 extra, the Sun and Sound Group adds diamond-cut 19-inch aluminum wheels, as well as a new stereo and a panoramic sunroof.
